Who invented cloth nappies? The Marion Donovan story

Marion Donovan is credited with inventing the first modern cloth diaper in 1949. She was inspired by the need to find a better solution to the traditional cloth diapers of the time, which were bulky, uncomfortable, and difficult to clean. Donovan's invention was made of a waterproof plastic material and was designed to be more comfortable and easier to use than traditional cloth diapers.

She was an American inventor and businesswoman and is best known for inventing the first disposable diaper after the second world war in 1949. She also invented the waterproof shower cap and the first plastic diaper cover. She went into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2006. Donovan was a pioneer in the field of disposable products and her inventions revolutionised the way parents care for their babies.
